Listening to the heart to evaluate rate and rhythm,
and to the lungs for quality of breath sounds
Checking eyes for proper pupil responses, evidence
of retinal changes and general brightness
Examining ears to view the condition of the ear canal
and ear drum
Checking for dental disease such as caries and gingivitis
or other gum disease
Palpating or feeling abdomen for proper size and texture
of internal organs
Evaluating condition of skin and coat for hydration,
allergies and fleas
Examining samples of cells under the microscope for
any lumps or growths
Blood work and/or urinalysis for dogs over 7 years
of age and cats over 10 years of age
Listening carefully to you about any changes in your
pets' general well-being since the last visit
